  1. I'm not a regular updater of CCleaner, so I don't know what my previous version were, but last night I updated to v5.51.6939 64-bit on my Windows 7 HP 64-bit machine, and proceeded to do a cleanup. Under "Thunderbird" I had these options selected: Internet Cache, Internet History, Download History and Last Download Location. When I started up Thunderbird again, everything in it was gone (!). Fortunately the profile (along with most of its files, e.g. e-mails, etc.) was intact on my hard drive. At first I thought that Thunderbird just forgot where the profile folder is, but it turned out that Thunderbind knew where the profile folder is, but something got corrupted or missing from the profile folder. I tried setting up a new profile using the standard Thunderbird instructions, but it wouldn't work (meaning one or more files in the existing profile got corrupted or missing). I eventually managed to restore Thunderbird, by the way.
  2. Thanks for clearing that up, mta.
  3. G'day everyone I'm trying to figure out how I can make my old laptop faster. According to the laptop's specifications, it should be able to handle 667 MHz RAM. However, Speccy reports the RAM in both slots as PC2-5300 (333 MHz). Does that mean: a - the maximum my laptop can take is actually 333 MHz, or b - the RAM chips currently installed have a top speed of 333 MHz, or c - the RAM chips are currently running at 333 MHz (but could potentially run faster) d - something else? I'm trying to determine if my laptop has too slow RAM in it (and consequently if I might get a different, better result if I buy new RAM chips that are specifically rated as "667 MHz"). In other words, does Speccy report the current level of usage, or the actual capability of the RAM chips? Thanks Samuel

  5. [This post is similar to this one: http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=23156 but it relates to Defraggler, not CCleaner. My apologies if this counts as a multipost.] G'day everyone I see Defraggler is in several languages but I can't find any information on the web site about what the translation procedure is. I've translated some of it into Afrikaans and am willing to redo it in another format if necessary. Here it is, uploaded.
