  1. My girlfriend did a system recovery (thinking she was doing a system restore). All of our files are now gone (photos, resumes...). I downloaded Recuva and ran it from a flash drive. The program seemed to be running very well, and quickly, showing about 70,000 revovered files in the first 10 minutes. But towards the end I got an error, with an option of Abort, Retry, or Cancel. I tried each option but it just seemed to freeze up. When I did finally manage to end the program, I had a folder with about 400 recovered files. Unfortanately, when I tried to open these files (such as jpegs) nothing came up. It was as if they were text only and not the original documents. I talked to a guy at Staples and he said he's used this program before and had good luck with it. I'm not that computer literate so I'm looking to see if anyone might have some suggestions or can offer a "dummies" step-by-step tuturial on how to correctly use Recuva. Thanks for any suggestions or help anyone might be able to offer!
