If I scan with CCleaner, and it takes away something that I did not want it to, and messes my computer up some how, is there any way to restore it to back to what it was before the scan was run?

I had my CD-drive messed up (one of the registry files), and was not sure what causesd it. I was going to try and run CCleaner. Is there anyway to back up/recover from CCleaner from the last scan in case this was the problem, and it messes it up (again?)? Thanks.
