Please read about the HOSTS file:
Blocking Unwanted Parasites with a Hosts File
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
The hpHosts file is another HOSTS file provided by Steven Burn from:
http://hosts-file.net/?s=Download
I don't use Spy Sweeper so I can not comment on its functions.
Yes, I found stopzilla.com in the hpHosts file listing. Thank you for the information.
What spyware software do you recommend?
I just now installed and scanned CCleaner v2.16.830. No alert from a s-squared, MBAM, avast, or SuperantiSpyware.I just installed this version, too, with no alerts. All is well.

Welcome pawleygon
I think that is is a false positive by Stopzilla.
I hope you downloaded from an approved site like Filehippo as there are rogue sites that claim to have CCleaner but they are not to be trusted:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner
Actually I never had much use for Stopzilla and its site is blocked in the hpHosts HOSTS file.
Old PCMag review:
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2163435,00.asp
Download.com users only give it 2 out of 5 stars which is poor.
I've always downloaded CCleaner from Filehippo.com.
Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, but what is the significance of this: "its site is blocked in the hpHosts HOSTS file"
I'm wondering if I should uninstall Stopzilla because I also have Spysweeper on my computer. I read the article you linked and they do the same thing, right?

I tried installing the latest version of CCleaner. When I click on the execution file ccsetup215.exe for installation, I get a spyware alert from my spyware detection software Stopzilla. It lists "UpdateWin" as the culprit.
CCleaner says there is no spyware in their software, but Stopzilla says otherwise.
This was never a problem on earlier versions of CCleaner.
Any suggestions?
