  1. Thanks to all who have replied. I do appreciate the help Mike
  2. No problem, I actually could read and understand the last post. Made geraate since ot mee lol I"ll have to check out recuva and make sure I understand just what it will do before I start blasting files etc. Can't afford to zing the wrong ones. That 's why I don't trust registry cleaners as I don't know what they are doing for sure. Mike
  3. Not sure what your talking about on the "Recova" Google search comes up w/ face cream LOL. There is a Piriform Recuva but that is for recovery not secure delete. Thanks Mike
  4. . I guess I don't understand how if the files are erased/deleted by any program that another program can still find them. Whether CCleaner or Privacy keeper if they say they remove them then they should not be there, especially a whole years worth.. Are they stored in multiple place by chance?
  5. Two part post to save space: First where can I find the original/default checkbox settings for CCleaner? Second I have been running CCleaner with the history file box checked and typically clean every day or two. Today I ran a free program called IEHistoryView and it found all of my history for over a year. What settings would I have wrong on CCleaner that after all this time it did not find these under Analyze? I have Temporary internet files, cookies, history and last download location checked in the IE upper box, all checked in Windows Explorer, all but start menu shortcuts and desktop shortcuts checking under system, and until today I only had old prefetch data checked in Advanced section. I have, from a forum entry, added the Custom files and folder but don't understand why this is there. The impression I had was that if I had anything other than default boxes checked I needed this one checked also. Thanks in advance for any help you can give. Mike
