    From your description it sounds like you missed the installation offer screen - which has been there in one form or another since 2010.

    Although we do get reports of customers telling us that they did not see an offer screen, this is usually because no offer was made.  Reports of installer errors where no offer appears but an offered installation still occurs are extremely rare - if this happened to you it would be a bug, and your assistance would be appreciated in helping us diagnose what happened to prevent it happening in the future.

    Feel free to send a letter to the London office.  Note, however, that with regards to the product installer, GDPR relates to the collection, storage and use of personal information - which does not apply here.

    In the EU that is illegal and you can be fined. EU versions should come with such boxes unticked, otherwise it is a violation of gdpr.

  2. Maybe you've used other Avast programs apart from their antivirus? Their VPN, Grimefighter or password manager, they've had few more programs in the past as well.

    Maybe a 3rd party installed some Avast traces, etc... You can just delete them, if Ccleaner found them and you don't have an active installation you can safely delete them.

  3. I think it looks way more refined than previosly, though I feel the theme is not the right theme. I don't really like the flat tile theme from windows 8, but it is definately more refined and more professional than version 4.

    The assortment, the ergonomical design, everything is way mor refined and professional.

  4. There is definately room for improvement in the GUI, but not with flat tiles. I think flat tiles is just going backward and even Microsoft are slowly but surely moving away from that design.

    I'm still going to use Ccleaner no matter the interface, I mean to me the important thing is the functionality and how light the program is, so even if it had garbage GUI I'd still use it, but I feel like in order to improve they need to get away from the tile theme and go for more of a modern 3D look.

  5. Please Pirform don't use the flat tile interface. I hate win 8 and its stupid flat tiles. I like a more modern 3D style, not going back in time with flat tiles.

    I think there is room for improvement of the GUI in version 5, but not by making it a flat tile.

  6. It'd be nice to have a reporting feature. Something along the lines of what was deleted and a time stamp. The ability of append or write over the old log. Where to put the log file and to possibly name it after the machine name or users name.

    Something like

    ReportingOn=Yes

    AppendReport=Yes

    ReportLocation=\\myserver\ccleanerreports

    TitleReport=%username%-%computername%-%date%

    Yeah but wouldn't that just create well "logs" what CCleaner is actually removing from programs.

  7. Welcome to Piriform slickr.

    Why would you want to compress old files before deletion? ;)

    windows automaticly compresses unused files and its pretty non-standard to change the amount of days before it compresses them and its also easily forgoten so for that reason, speaking of which those are unneeded compressed files 99% of the time.

    So it has nothing to do with some1 manually compresing files before removing them thats just absurd!

  8. Hi there, first and foremost I want to say CCleaner is a great application and one of the best overall taking its also free.

    Good job on the developers and I hope there will be enough donations to keep you motivated to work on improving CCleaner!

    Anyways i want to suggest compress old files deletition added to CCleaner.

    Thats it and hopfully this suggestion of mine would be incorporated in CCleaner in some future update!

    Thanks.
