  1. System restored and up and running again. My sincere thanks to all who contributed. It is unusual to find a forum with as many fast and useful responses, which speaks volumes for the people here. Again - my thanks.
  2. Well, thank you to all who have responded .. unfortunately the problem is not yet resolved. Using run/browse .. I located and right clicked the .reg file and merged it in again. But that did not solve the problem. Run explorer.exe gives me the same issue as when I try to use "my computer". I think a system restore might be the only way to get it back, but I am unsure as to how to do it, and am unable to get into the Control Panel. Can someone step me through how to restore the system?
  3. I cannot right click it - because I do not have explorer to click it in - is there some other way to get it to merge?
  4. I just downloaded your program and ran it to clean my windows and registry. After "fixing" the registry I cannot run Windows explorer anymore.. I backed up the registry using the option before making the changes and can see the back up file and open it using a text editor, but cannot work out how to restore the backed up registry and get my Windows explorer back. I am using XP. Can someone tell me how to restore the backed up version of the registry please.
