  1. Yes, I understand the value of "portable" application. What I don't understand is why install a program if that same program can be run by using a "portable" version that doesn't require any installation to do its thing.
  2. Does the portable version of Recuva (ver 1.11.257) do the same job as the Recuva ver 1.11.257 that requires installation? If it does than why install a program that can be run without installation? I've noticed other programs (Truecrypt comes to mind) that have both a portable and an install version. I wonder the same thing about them. My gut feeling is that sometimes installing a program can mess up a computer, so it is best not to install a program if you don't have to. Is my gut feeling wrong? I'd appreciate hearing what others have to say about this because I don't know. I'm --- --- NottaProgramr
