I'm using Windows 7. Yes, I downloaded from the Piriform web site. I use Bitdefender Internet Security which is up to date and is reporting no problems.

I've used CCleaner Free for a long time now without any problems. Suddenly, when I've downloaded the last two versions, neither wanted to open and a window opens telling me that "Windows cannot access the programme. You may not have the appropriate permissions for access". When I go to properties and security, although the appropriate permissions are ticked, they are greyed out. Any help/advice would be appreciated

I'm sorry but I do not understand the existence of the Application Tab. When I click on it, there is a short list of applications that are on my PC, but I do not understand the relevance. Is CC suggesting I may wish to delete these programmes? Why has CC selected these particular programmes and will it delete them completely if I OK it?
