  1. I believe it is the Windows Updates, too.

I use Vista 32bit. I know that it is not malware.

When I opened the CP, it would be blank. No errors. I have not tried in Safe Mode.

It is fixed now. I just do not update any longer =/

I am almost thinking of starting fresh again. I wouldn't mind it and I could use a fresh start anyway :D

Tell me if there is any other better ideas please!

    Thanks!!!

  2. Is this after you do an ordinary clean or when you do a registry clean (issues)?

Have you anything ticked in the advanced section of CCleaner?

Honestly, I do not actually know if it is CCleaner.

    Here is the story:

Ok. I like keeping my system up to date with Windows. I always download the latest updates to keep my system clean. A week ago, I had 9 new updates. I thought this was a lot more and unusual, but I installed them anyway. It did the restart and configure process and eventually led to a message saying some thing like "The updates were not configured correctly." It reverted the changes and restarted.

After that, I could not open the Control Panel. I could also not open some other Windows features. I contacted Windows Support and attempted a System Restore. This caused some of my files to be a little messed up so I did what I could to fix them. I then tried updating again to just get the same issue. I reverted back again and was all set. I then uninstalled CCleaner as I remembered I had just updated it before I found issues. I tried updating again to no avail.

So, I still have the same Control Panel issues, but I'd just like to receive some knowledge and tips.

    Thanks so much.

  3. i can't run the uninstall file. EVERY CCleaner file is bugged out. i can't access anything or do anything.

i only use this account with my computer. it is an admin and i installed using this one.

i've tried reinstalling. it says "can't opon uninst.exe to write files". And i click retry but it doesnt work. so i ignored it and installed everything i could and it still is broken.

and i dont have a "Run" button because i use firefox.

  4. In the list of options, are the boxes for Desktop Shortcuts and Start Menu checked? If so I had a similar problem and don't know if it's been addressed yet. According to the online how to, those boxes are supposed to only remove shortcuts to the programs that are no longer on a system but on the system I was working on that wasn't the case. It was a system that was a clean install and as part of setting up a computer I always add CCleaner and run it after I install all the programs I want and do all of the Microsoft Updates.

yea. it worked perfectly when i used first. then after a cpl days it like ate itself or something did something to it.

(i cant even run CCleaner, uninstall CCleaner, or delete the files of CCleaner)

nice to see someone else with this problem!

    :(

BTW : notification for posts is broken here. (atleast for me)

  5. My computer has died!

Hi. I was advised to run CCleaner on my desktop, and selected all the options and ran the program. Turned my computer off, and when I tried to restart it later, it doesn't boot up windows saying its got a problem with the windows login and a problem with the user interface, both some type of .dll files...

I tried using f5 at restart, and tried last known configuration, tried safe mode, and tried multiple normal reboots, but the same thing keeps happening and the last warning box about the user interface dll file only gives the option to restart.

I had made a backup of the registry before carrying out the cleaning, but those files are in my windows folders somewhere. What has happened? What can I do to bring my computer back to life?

After multiple fails, and trying the boot up recovery disk, the only outcome is an A:/ blinking dos cursor. Please help me out, what and how can I repair this probleM ?

    Where is the support here??

No one can help this person??

CCleaner seems to be SWAMPED the so many friggen bugs!!! What's wrong?!?!

  6. I installed CCleaner to clean my TEMP files and other things.

I installed and ran it once, and then 2 days after that run, the

    1. CCleaner logo on the program shortcut disappears.

    2. I also forgot to delete the setup exe I downloaded to install CCleaner. I tried deleting it when I noticed it was still there, it wouldn't budge. Said "Access Denied" or Some error.

    3. try to run or open CCleaner - Access Denied.

    4. Tried uninstalling - access denied

    5. tried going to add & remove programs and uninstalling - access denied

is there a spyware or something in it? cause i had it for 2 days and it gets stuck on my computer.

    what to do???

    thanks,

    cralor
