  1. Hazelnut, Thank you for the prompt reply. To answer your question, yes & no. In my case there is an item listed, (RegistryMechanic). That is all that is shown for that item. I'm using Win98 so it doesn't list the Command, and Location columns, as it does in XP. In my case it shows the location of the .exe or .dll for program listed. Listed in the registry, under the run key, RegistryMechanic is listed under the Value Name. Under Value Data it shows, "". Other than that one item, all the rest of the msconfig items are OK.
  2. Hello all, I've been using CCleaner for quite awhile, and it has always been very accurate, and reliable. I ran an Issue Scan this morning, with all item selected. The results showed one error was found in the Run at Startup section. The error indicated: Problem = Missing Startup Software Data = Blank Registry Key=HKLK\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\windows\CurrentVersion\Run What I don't understand is, what it is indicating is wrong? If I agree with what is being shown, and select fix this error, I believe it will delete that Registry Key. If I do that then the items listed under that key will no longer run at startup. As it stands now, using the Windows System Information Tool, it lists the same Startup Program that are listed under the "Run" key in the Registry. My question is: Am I missing something, or is this a false positive?
