Please add a "Disable Entry" option in Startup Entries, because sometime we want to just "Disable" the Startup Entry and not "Completely" delete it. (for testing purposes - so that we can restore it if something goes wrong!) Also if possible, please make a short-cut that allow us to "Edit Startup Entry" with right-click context menu in Startup window inside CCleaner. Example: Some startup program always display the "Splash-screen" & Music during the system startup; and I would like to edit the registry to disable it without going through all the hassle finding the registry. And allow us to use Back-up this Registry option (in the context menu) would be a plus!

Use customized setting when Run CCleaner from Recycle Bin
dude09 replied to dude09's topic in CCleaner Suggestions
Uh, I did test it again and the similar situation happended. All My recent typed URL were cleared, and the Start > Run (command) is also all gone; only the Recycle Bin is still untouch. I did unchecked the recent typed URL, Run (in Start Menu), and Empty Recycle Bin Options in the Cleaner Setting (Windows). And what system information do you need? I don't understand what you meant... But I will try to give you a HijackThis.log, I hope that's what you want: Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1 Scan saved at 1:48:48 AM, on 6/26/2007 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.6000.16473) Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\Program Files\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\avguard.exe C:\Program Files\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\sched.exe C:\PROGRA~1\CACHEM~1\CachemanXP.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\CTsvcCDA.exe C:\Program Files\SolidDocuments\SolidConverterPDF\SCPDF\SolidPdfService.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\hkcmd.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxpers.exe C:\Program Files\Dell\Media Experience\DMXLauncher.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\DLA\DLACTRLW.EXE C:\DOCUME~1\Jonn\LOCALS~1\Temp\clclean.0001 C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\UpdateService\issch.exe C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDVD\PDVDServ.exe C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Creative Labs Shared\Service\CreativeLicensing.exe C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_01\bin\jusched.exe C:\Program Files\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\avgnt.exe C:\Program Files\Creative\MediaSource\Detector\CTDetect.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msnmsgr.exe C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\usnsvc.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Windows Live\WLLoginProxy.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\Documents and Settings\MYNAME\My Documents\Tools\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe R0 - How about a Hot-key/Boss-key to Activate and Close CCleaner's window? Maybe we can even make CCleaner to clean up "Pre-set Items" in Silent-Mode with a Hot-key without even open the CCleaner's Window... For example: Just like the "Run CCleaner from Recycle Bin" function, but activated with just pressing: SHIFT/Alt + DELETE OPTIONAL (allow us to turn off this feature in Option) And after everything is cleaned, show a simple "Report of deleted Items window" and then automatically closed after 5 seconds... (with count-down display) I hope this is not too much to ask, I know it sounds a bit crazy... but it will make our life a lot easier! P/S: I got this crazy idea from AVG anti-virus + Run CCleaner from Recycle Bin!!!

I agree, more customize options always welcome... but minutes and seconds is a little bit unnecessary though I think just using days and hours option would be sufficient enough.

Is it possible to allow CCleaner to use the "Customized Setting" instead of the "Default Setting" when "Run CCleaner" function from Recycle Bin is used? I rarely able to use the "Run CCleaner" function from the Recycle Bin because it will always delete everything from IE, Window Explorer, and System. It doesn't obey the setting I set in the "Cleaner Settings". For Example, most of the time I would like to keep my "Recent Typed URL" and the "Items" in the Recycle Bin; if I use the "Run Cleaner" from Recycle Bin, I will loss everything... Please add this feature in CCleaner so that we can utilize the "Run CCleaner" function from the Recycle Bin more effectively in the future.

If you are worried about your computer safety when using p2p sharing client, maybe you can just install and run Peer Guardian 2. And I don't think running two or more different p2p clients at the same time is a good idea either: you will suffer from slow download speed and causing traffic-congestion to the p2p community. Oh, by the way did anyone found a good replacement for Utorrent yet (beside Azurues)? I still stuck with Utorrent because I can't find any better bittorrent client yet...

OK, I un-install the old MSN Messenger and then re-install the New Window Live Messenger yesterday. And then when I run the CCleaner (Issue Scan), a few item came up and can't be deleted... they just keep re-appear in the next scan again and again. So, I just want to know if I should leave it (maybe I shouldn't delete them?) or find a way to get rid of them... The Items is these: (Unused File Extension) HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MSNIASVC.LogonManager HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MSNIASVC.LogonManager.1 HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MSNIASVC.MSNIAUI HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MSNIASVC.MSNIAUI.1 HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MsnInst.InstallerBehaviorFactory HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MsnInst.InstallerBehaviorFactory.1 HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MsnInst.MsnInstaller HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MsnInst.MsnInstaller.1 HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\xls_auto_file When I tried to open these files in the regedit through CCleaner, an Error Warning state: "Cannot open <key name> : Error while opening key" will appear. So, am I suppose to just leave them alone, or delete them all? How to delete them? Thanks for Helping Me
