For drivers such as NVIDIA, AMD, audio, motherboard, and others, it's best to update them directly from the manufacturer's website rather than relying on any third-party tool or even Windows Update. Just ignore it, many/most do. redwolfe_98 Posted September 5 Share Posted September 5 i only ocasionally get a popup from "ccleaner." not nearly enough to be annoying. i am using the free version. in ccleaner's "options"/"privacy" i have all of the boxes there unticked. and i don't have ccleaner blocked by my firewall-rules or otherwise. one thing is, i don't have "ccleaner" set to run in the background. that might be the difference. I don’t have CCleaner or any related tools running automatically, and I’ve disabled the Optimization Service, yet I still get the pop-up every time without exception. I realize it’s an ad, but it’s not just an ordinary ad. It's incredibly annoying. Ignoring it doesn’t work; I have to actively close it. Since I use sophisticated DNS blockers to prevent ads, this issue seems embedded in the application. Of course if you are blocking the flag (maybe a cookie?) that says you have already been shown a particular notification then CCleaner doesn't 'know' that you have already seen it once and so next time will show it again.
