Humpty
So simple yet so powerful.Yep, I am a dreamer. Artist: John Lennon Song: Imagine Imagine there's no Heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace You may say that I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world You may say that I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one
Moderators rridgely Posted September 21, 2006 Moderators Share Posted September 21, 2006 Oh wow, this is a hard choice to make. Their are so many songs to choose from. Imagine is deffinitely a top contender as well. I'm going to have to go with: Bob Dylan's Like A Rolling Stone. Once upon a time you dressed so fine You threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you? People'd call, say, "Beware doll, you're bound to fall" You thought they were all kiddin' you You used to laugh about Everybody that was hangin' out Now you don't talk so loud Now you don't seem so proud About having to be scrounging for your next meal. How does it feel How does it feel To be without a home Like a complete unknown Like a rolling stone? You've gone to the finest school all right, Miss Lonely But you know you only used to get juiced in it And nobody has ever taught you how to live on the street And now you find out you're gonna have to get used to it You said you'd never compromise With the mystery tramp, but now you realize He's not selling any alibis As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes And ask him do you want to make a deal? How does it feel How does it feel To be on your own With no direction home Like a complete unknown Like a rolling stone? You never turned around to see the frowns on the jugglers and the clowns When they all come down and did tricks for you You never understood that it ain't no good You shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you You used to ride on the chrome horse with your diplomat Who carried on his shoulder a Siamese cat Ain't it hard when you discover that He really wasn't where it's at After he took from you everything he could steal. How does it feel How does it feel To be on your own With no direction home Like a complete unknown Like a rolling stone? Princess on the steeple and all the pretty people They're drinkin', thinkin' that they got it made Exchanging all kinds of precious gifts and things But you'd better lift your diamond ring, you'd better pawn it babe You used to be so amused At Napoleon in rags and the language that he used Go to him now, he calls you, you can't refuse When you got nothing, you got nothing to lose You're invisible now, you got no secrets to conceal. How does it feel How does it feel To be on your own With no direction home Like a complete unknown Like a rolling stone? Followed closely by Rolling Stones' Satisfaction/You Cant Always Get What You Want, The Beatles Let It Be, and Bruce Springsteen Born to Run/Thunder Road. Anything by any of the artists I mentioned is almost certifiable greatness. So hard to pick just one, I couldn't do it.
mr.brownstone
Very difficult..hmmm I'm going for COMA - Guns N' Roses (Slash / Rose) Hey you caught me in a coma And I don't think I wanna Ever come back to this...world again Kinda like it in a coma 'Cause no one's ever gonna Oh, make me come back to this...world again Now I feel as if I'm floating away I can't feel all the pressure And I like it this way But my body's callin' My body's callin' Won't ya come back to this...world again Suspended deep in a sea of black I've got the light at the end I've got the bones on the mast Well I've gone sailin', I've gone sailin' I could leave so easily While friends are calling back to me I said they're They're leaving it all up to me When all I needed was clarity And someone to tell me What the f*** is going on Goddamn it! Slippin' farther an farther away It's a miracle how long we can stay In a world our minds created In a world that's full of s**t Help me Help me Help me Help me Bastard Please understand me I'm climbin' through the wreckage Of all my twisted dreams But this cheap investigation just can't stifle all my screams And I'm waitin' at the crossroads Waiting for you Waiting for you Where are you No one's gonna bother me anymore No one's gonna mess with my head no more I can't understand what all the fightin's for But it's so nice here down off the shore I wish you could see this 'Cause there's nothing to see It's peaceful here and it's fine with me Not like the world where I used to live I never really wanted to live Zap him again Zap the son of a bitch again Ya live your life like it's a coma So won't you tell me why we'd wanna With all the reasons you give it's It's kinda hard to believe But who am I to tell you that I've seen any reason why you should stay Maybe we'd be better off without you anyway You got a one way ticket On your last chance ride Gotta one way ticket To your suicide Gotta one way ticket An there's no way out alive An all this crass communication That has left you in the cold Isn't much for consolation When you feel so weak and old But is home is where the heart is Then there's stories to be told No you don't need a doctor No one else can heal your soul Got your mind in submission Got your life on the line But nobody pulled the trigger They just stepped aside They be down by the water While you watch 'em waving goodbye They be callin' in the morning They be hangin' on the phone They be waiting for an answer When you know nobody's home And when the bell's stopped ringing It was nobody's fault but your own There were always ample warnings There were always subtle signs And you would have seen it comin' But we gave you too much time And when you said that no one's listening Why'd your best friend drop a dime Sometimes we get so tired of waiting For a way to spend our time An "It's so easy" to be social "It's so easy" to be cool Yeah it's easy to be hungry When you ain't got s**t to lose And I wish that I could help you With what you hope to find But I'm still out here waiting Watching reruns of my life When you reach the point of breaking Know it's gonna take some time To heal the broken memories That another man would need Just to survive... fredvries
And yes, I'm a bit of a dreamer too. Hollow (from the album Eveningland by Hem) Sometimes when I lay down at night I swear I can see to heaven For it's in dreaming that the things I always knew are the only thoughts I have And when I look up at you, love Handsome as a magazine Wild as the sun, like nothing below could ever pull you down But it's a hard road that we follow The saddest cities, and the darkest hollows People cross this world Over and then back again Never even one time lift their eyes Or think of what they say But I hear it in your voice, love Like someone sweetly willing The hope of all these years, the prayer of a time that we don't even know But it's a hard road that we follow The saddest cities, and the darkest hollows But I hear it in your voice, love The strongest sound I've ever heard Like water from a well so deep in the ground I'll never thirst again But it's a hard road that we follow The saddest cities, and the darkest hollows And everything that's far away And was lost from me I see it all from here in you
Moderators Andavari Posted September 21, 2006 Moderators Share Posted September 21, 2006 I don't want to be a spoiler but I think it's legal to list out lyrics without permission from the artist/label that owns them. Hence the reason cover songs that bands do typically don't have the lyrics printed in the liner notes - even if they have permission to have the song on their CD. New_Age
I see no harm in knowing the lyrics and posting them. I wouldn't care much. I play the drums and somewhat sing and if I ever had a record I would post it for the web. YoKenny
One of my favourites: Blinded By The Light by Bruce Springsteen Madman drummers bummers and Indians in the summer with a teenage diplomat In the dumps with the mumps as the adolescent pumps his way into his hat With a boulder on my shoulder feelin' kinda older I tripped the merry-go-round With this very unpleasing sneezing and wheezing the calliope crashed to the ground Some all-hot half-shot was headin' for the hot spot snappin' his fingers clappin' his hands And some fleshpot mascot was tied into a lover's knot with a whatnot in her hand And now young Scott with a slingshot finally found a tender spot and throws his lover in the sand And some bloodshot forget-me-not whispers daddy's within earshot save the buckshot turn up the band And she was blinded by the light Cut loose like a deuce another runner in the night Blinded by the light She got down but she never got tight, but she'll make it alright Some brimstone baritone anti-cyclone rolling stone preacher from the east He says: "Dethrone the dictaphone, hit it in its funny bone, that's where they expect it least" And some new-mown chaperone was standin' in the corner all alone watchin' the young girls dance And some fresh-sown moonstone was messin' with his frozen zone to remind him of the feeling of romance Yeah he was blinded by the light Cut loose like a deuce another runner in the night Blinded by the light He got down but she never got tight, but he's gonna make it tonight Some silicone sister with her manager's mister told me I got what it takes She said I'll turn you on sonny, to something strong if you play that song with the funky break, And go-cart Mozart was checkin' out the weather chart to see if it was safe to go outside And little Early-Pearly came in by her curly-wurly and asked me if I needed a ride, Oh, some hazard from Harvard was skunked on beer playin' backyard bombardier Yes and Scotland Yard was trying hard, they sent a dude with a calling card, he said, do what you like, but don't do it here Well I jumped up, turnedaround, spit in the air, fell on the ground Asked him which was the way back home He said take a right at the light, keep goin' straight until night, and then boy, you're on your own And now in Zanzibar a shootin' star was ridin' in a side car hummin' a lunar tune Yes, and the avatar said blow the bar but first remove the cookie jar we're gonna teach those boys to laugh too soon And some kidnapped handicap was complainin' that he caught the clap from some mousetrap he bought last night, Well I unsnapped his skull cap and between his ears I saw a gap but figured he'd be all right He was just blinded by the light Cut loose like a deuce another runner in the night Blinded by the light Mama always told me not to look into the sights of the sun Oh but mama that's where the fun is http://www.brucespringsteen.net/songs/BlindedByTheLight.html "Education is what remains after one has forgotten everything he learned in school." - Albert Einstein IE7Pro user
New_Age
Sounds like a cool song title, and a very Metal sounding title at that. Thx you. I'll need to play more though. I'm good but not good enough. My 3 peice record will be based off my life. All the pain I've gone through in the past years. Stressed and all. My Ablum title will probably be my first titled song. My 2nd song is titled: The splashes of blood Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit Edition | COOLER MASTER Centurion 590 with 4 120mm Blue LED FANS 1 Regular 120MM FAN and a Custom Window Side Panel | AMD Athlon II x4 2.6GHZ Stock| XIGMATEK HDT-S963 92mm | ASRock A780GXE/128 | G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) @800MHZ | CF 2 XFX 4850 1GB @GPU940/MEM1005 | 320GB/OS 160GB/Storage HDDs | LG CD/DVD SATA | Rosewill 600W 2 12v Rail@44 | Ccleaner, Defraggler | Malwarebytes', SUPERAnti-Spyware | Avira AntiVir Personal | Google Chrome v3/4, IE8
JAGO
Right now it's probably Augury - Beatus, only because I really like the song... All senses out to the debauchery, He will come secreting Eucharist again Black robe, the veiled ogre, prayed his way to the fresh meat For the shepherd also dines on lamb and he bends for the frail and tender. Nightly taught in vice, housebroken with virtue, tamed, humiliated, To God the souls, but the flesh he'll takes care of... Magister, Magister, dolorae inferis Magister, Magister, in caudae venenum est Magister, Magister, caro mea vere est cibus. Torrente voluptatis, tuae potabis eos (He stalks the corridors, question which room he'll sneak in Shivering puppies' cringe, praying their turn has not come) Et clamor meus ad Te veniat Pulling sheets overhead in hopes to be spared Exaudi meam, miserere nobis Whence the evening came, he brands his cattle for life After eons it is time to go All of them empty shells walking, overused toys To nowhere they march, martyrs of lust In the making, more martyrs of lust Until guns blow or creaking ropes swing Beatified carrions in betrayed faith --- Other really awesome stuff for lyrics are Portal, Andrew W Bordoni, Ryan Formato, Porcupine Tree, Agalloch, etc.
mps69_1999
M*A*S*H Theme Really good lyric, especially since it was written by a 15 year old. Through early morning fog I see visions of the things to be The pains that are withheld for me I realize and I can see . . . That suicide is painless it brings on many changes And I can take or leave it if I please. I try to find a way to make all our little joys relate Without that ever-present hate but now I know that it?s too late, and . . .That suicide is painless it brings on many changes And I can take or leave it if I please. The game of life is hard to play. I?m gonna lose it anyway. The losing card I?ll someday lay so this is all I have to say. That suicide is painless it brings on many changes And I can take or leave it if I please. The only way to win is cheat and lay it down before I?m beat, and to another give my seat for that?s the only painless feat. That suicide is painless it brings on many changes And I can take or leave it if I please. The sword of time will pierce our skins it doesn?t hurt when it begins But as it works its way on in the pain grows stronger . . . watch it grin, but . . . That suicide is painless it brings on many changes And I can take or leave it if I please. A brave man once requested me to answer questions that are key 'Is it to be or not to be' and I replied 'oh why ask me?' That suicide is painless it brings on many changes And I can take or leave it if I please. And you can do the same thing if you choose. I like the drummer from UNDEROATH. I've talked to him and stuff. He seems pretty cool. But for now I'm not really into doing what I want to do. kobrakommander56
hmm.. my fav words ever spit out on a song are: Immortal Technique: 4th branch "this is the information they keep back from Peter Jennings, cause Condaleeza Rice is just a new-age Sally Hemmings." "Cuz i won't trade humanity for patriotism" "It's like MKULTRA controlling your brain, causing your perspective to change." Another one of his songs: "I've got skills unused, like the fallopian tubes of a dike." Insert random C4 joke here.
