Moderators nukecad Posted December 21, 2019 Moderators Share Posted December 21, 2019 Facebook has also been caught using your phone number, ostensibly given to them for secure 2-step identification, for marketing and other purposes.https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-50865152 Quote Users can choose to have a code sent to their mobile phones when logging in to make access harder for hackers. But Facebook admitted it also fed the numbers into targeted advertising and friend recommendation systems. They say that they are going to stop doing it - sometime in 2020. *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Keep getting logged out of websites? Willy2
- Was this information leaked or hacked ? - Sometimes when I am asked to provide a phone number I give them a mobile phone number that has been disconnected. When they REALLY use it for (secure) identification ONLY then there should be no problem with this strategy. - (and with a Christmas avatar).
