In Options, select the cookies for such sites and put them in the cookies to keep column.

I may have solved my own problem by changing the "cleaner setting" for applications where I unchecked "Internet History". I was reluctant to try to save all the cookies, as there would be hundreds of them - 1 for each article I read at each site.

Each site should use only one cookie to track all the articles read, e.g., <username>@forum.ccleaner.com for this site, but if you use a lot of sites, it could still be a problem.
