having issues..

So I am hearing this is one of the best programs out there.. I have ran a scan and it seems to have found the photos (I accidentally deleted) but when I look at them in the folder I put them in Windows says "We can't open this file" and it shows a black image. 

 

These are from my LG V10 and I am using a reader on the computer. So do I need to do this and keep the card in the phone or am I missing something? Do I need to upgrade? I am more than happy to do so but not if I'm going to get the same results..
