Over 9000% scan when scanning big HDD.

Hello,

My 2TB HDD has unrecoverable partition. Testdisk was done before but it cannot repair the damage partition. Even List mode is not working.
No further changes are made.

The HDD was closed off suddenly while writing due hardware error.
It has no much surface damage because it's working good before.

The scan was started normal and when i was away whole time and came back, i saw the crazy numbers.

Because i know the HDD is almost full, it has more files to recover it.

The progress is still in 1/3 fase.

Even with over 9000% and crazy progressbar, i saw the found files goes not higher and stuck whole time on same amount found files.
Lucky i can cancel it and i can select the found files.
I can see the % just still counting up and up.... endless counting actually.

But so far i can see, still many files are not recovered. So the whole process is not even completed.

I tested also another program Puran File Recovery (which is also good) and it has complete the full disc scanning.
But i compared both results and found out Recuva has some files found which are not found by Puran.

Can you fix Recuva to make sure it goes not crazy and will continue with scanning?

Oh yes, the HDD is on USB2.0 dock. But that should not make much difference.

Still waiting for explaination why the scanner overshoot the 100% scanning and fell in counter + banner loop bug.

It's unclear why it stopped with scanning, or hard to see it's busy with scanning.

I saw some users has same problem, so there is small bug in the program.

(Other program can complete the scan, so there is problem inside Recuva)

rest assured the Dev team read these posts, but seldom respond unless further details are required.

also be assured, if some member has any advice, they will chime in eventually. (it is Easter Holidays too don't forget) :)
