PrivateTimm
I've been using CCleaner for a while with no problems at all. My computer is running Windows Vista, the free space I am trying to wipe is 53G of a 103G hard drive. It used to do a 3 pass overwrite in about 25-30 minutes tops. Now on a 1 pass overwrite it gets to about 41% and instead of zipping through it in the 3 minutes it says is left, it starts to increase the time and it positively "stops" at 49% and it goes from about 14 minutes to like 2 days estimated left. Any thoughts?
Moderators mta Posted September 26, 2012 Moderators Share Posted September 26, 2012 I take it you have rebooted and tried again, in the off chance it's 'just one of those things'. Next, I would be checking the hard drive for errors, looking for file system errors and bad sectors. Backup now & backup often. It's your digital life - protect it with a backup.Three things are certain; Birth, Death and loss of data. You control the last.
