Startup Program management

Hi folks,

Apologies for what will probably seem a daft question, but I am completely new to CCleaner, and despite searching I cannot seem to find an answer to my question anywhere...

A friend introduced me to CCleaner, and while he was demonstrating how I could manage which programs run when my computer starts, he was able to bring up a small window of information on each program in the list with details on whether it was safe to disable the program or was vital to your system. Since I have downloaded CCleaner however I have been unable to figure out how he did this; I can only enable, disable or delete programs.

I'd be grateful if anyone could tell me how he brought up that information box!

Many thanks.

Hi Neilus, and welcome to the forum.

CCleaner doesn't have the function to bring up a small window of information on each program in the list with details on whether it was safe to disable the program or was vital to your system.

Any chance it was a different program?

Hi Jamin4u & thanks for your reply.

Well, Im stumped! Im sure CCleaner was the only program he showed me, but in view of your reply it seems he must have shown me something else as well. Alas, he is away for a while, but when he returns Ill find out what he did show me & let you know.

I, too, am a newbie to CCleaner and wonder if the more seasoned users can recommend a reputable site to use as a reference for the startup programs. What Neilus is describing would be great, but I'd settle for reliable information from elsewhere.

Thanks!
