hendu
I cleaned my registry and now I can't boot, how do I restore the backup copy? I have a second hard drive in the computer that I can boot to. What's the point of a backup registry if you can't restore it?

Moderators DennisD Posted January 11, 2010 Moderators Share Posted January 11, 2010 Hi hendu, and welcome to Piriform. Can you boot as far as being able to get into Safe Mode? http://www.pchell.com/support/safemode.shtml If so, you could merge the backup into the registry, or maybe do a System Restore, or maybe "Last Known Good Configuration". Alternatively, if you can boot to your other hard drive, and I'm assuming it contains another Operating System, can you access and navigate to the backup on your problem drive? EDIT: Didn't see your post ident.
