davey
Hi I have been using Auslogic disc defrag is defraggler any better Auslogic is very fast and seems to do a good job. Hi Steve, This link may show why it "seems" to be so fast. It is not doing a very good job of actually defragmenting and its reports are questionable also. http://donnedwards.openaccess.co.za/2007/0...ogics-disk.html http://donnedwards.openaccess.co.za/2007/1...isk-defrag.html The Windows Disk Defragmenter does better in all areas. "Defraggler" is much faster at "actually defragging files or disks." Auslogics does not do whole disks. davey

Moderators Andavari Posted September 24, 2008 Moderators Share Posted September 24, 2008 The Great Defrag Shootout explains that Auslogics defrag program rather well. In a nutshell it surely isn't the best free defrag tool, however it's better than not defragging at all, but still rather useless.
Steve51
I Have 2 Computers and 2 laptops I have just changed them all to Deffraggler.
davey
Thanks Davey I will give defraggler a go. Hi Steve, I am glad that I could get back to your first post and give you an answer. Congratulations on trying out "Defraggler" !!! I think you will be very happy with it. Here is link to one of my (in-depth? ) replies to a member about "Defragmentation" and "defrag" products. If like me, you are not a "Command line " proficient user then I highly recommend Andavari's Defraggler Shell. This allows point and click to defrag files, folders and disks. We get to have our cake and eat it, too! http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=112671 Best Wishes, davey
Steve51
I am afraid I had to uninstall Deffraggler it lost some files that my son had backed up on his pc and after I ran it on my PC I lost half a dozen pictures so it had to go.
