mac_the_fork
I am running a spring clean with your wonderful CCleaner, but am a little nervous about the 'Applications' tab. I have downloaded the Beginners Guide, read the FAQs and ran a search for 'Application Cleaning' which was somewhat inconclusive, listing several pages of topics to choose from. So can someone please reassure me? What happens if i run the cleaner with all the applications ticked? It will not remove the applications? Or the data files? What will it do exactly? I have used CCleaner successfully (once) in the past, but also had a wearying experience (once) that involved going back to a restore point, so i have come to realise this is a very powerful tool (which is what we want) and needs careful handling. I also have a 'fix' installed that allows my pc to override its limit of 10 (TCP or UDP, i cannot recall) connections. How can i alert CCleaner not to touch this? power to the people
anonymous_user
For most programs, it just cleans MRU (Most Recently Used) lists. For browsers like Firefox though, it can clean the cache, history, cookies, etc.
