Tom AZ
Is it possible to add chapters to a DVD backup of a movie using any of the reauthoring software so frequently mentioned on this forum?
Moderators DennisD Posted February 9, 2008 Moderators Share Posted February 9, 2008 The easiest way Tom, is to rip the whole movie with DVDFabDecrypter, and then load the Video_ts folder into Shrink 3.2. When you select the "re-author" option, you can leave the relevant chapter menus in place. All the chapter positions are kept intact anyway, even if you strip right down to the movie and one soundtrack only, so all you would be keeping extra is the chapter menus (thumbnails for each chapter). Here's a very good graphical guide to re-authoring with Shrink 3.2. DVD Shrink guide:
Tom AZ
Thanks, Dennis. What I was really wondering is whether or not it's possible to add chapters to a video (movie) that currently has no chapters?
Moderators DennisD Posted February 10, 2008 Moderators Share Posted February 10, 2008 Is it possible to add chapters to a DVD backup of a movie using any of the reauthoring software so frequently mentioned on this forum? Actually Tom, I had a feeling that's what you meant literally, but I thought I'd try the obvious answer first. I've never done this, or even seen it mentioned on here before, but it does seem possible according the info I've found here: DVD Back-up/Editing Guides. There are a few guides in this list referring to re-inserting menus and similar operations, which may be of help, although I'm sure there must be one of the guys on here who knows more about this stuff. Good luck.
