I now have a response from the development team, so I wanted to follow up as promised.
CCleaner is not offering beta or preview builds of OneDrive.
The versions surfaced by Software Updater come directly from Microsoft’s official production update feeds. The reason a version can appear in CCleaner before it shows up on Microsoft’s public release notes page is simply that Microsoft pushes new builds to their production feeds before they update their documentation.
This is actually confirmed by what you observed yourself — the 26.084.x branch that CCleaner offered you eventually did appear on the Microsoft Learn release notes page, just a few weeks later. That’s exactly the pattern our team is describing.
As a current example of this behaviour: our data already shows version 26.088.0510.0004 present in Microsoft’s production feeds, but it has not yet been published on the Microsoft OneDrive Sync release notes page.
So to directly answer the original question — CCleaner isn’t pulling from Dev, Canary, or any insider ring. It’s reading from the same production infrastructure Microsoft uses to distribute updates; it just sees those builds slightly earlier than the public-facing release notes reflect.
