The software and driver installers are optional and are not run in either Health Check or Custom Clean, honestly if you don’t want them to update then just don’t use them. I ignore the Driver updater on my new laptop as its drivers are still served by the OEM and windows update. I for a while only used software updater to tell me what needed updating (i.e. adobe reader) and I manually update it; since then I’ve begun, slowly and carefully, letting CCleaner update some things (DEFINITLY NOT WINDOWS UPDATES). It’s true that OneDrive is a weird one in CCleaner and often shows newer versions than publicly noted. OneDrive is very tied into the system, and I for one would rather windows updates and system apps were not part of the software updater.
However, we’ve been told things are changing in the next iteration of Ccleaner, 7.10
What these changes are have not been told but changes may mean easier updates in the future.
Actually, this was a much asked for addition, though I know not why as I too use CCleaner for its purpose of cleaning. But many ARE paying for the “privilege” of having a software and driver updater.
