Just tried CCleaner7 on a Windows 10 system - and the result is that my Firefox bookmarks and history system “will not be functional because one of the Firefox’e files is in use by another application.”
This is a real problem. I have restarted Firefox. I have rebooted the system. I have uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it. Nothing works. Help.
What is CCleaner 7? The current version is 6.37.11523.
Apparently it is a beta version only offered to some CCleaner Pro users by invitation only.
It is not for sale yet and we moderators have been given no information at all about it by admin.
That was all I could find on it as well. Not something that most users would be using.
@PeterPT If the CCleaner 7 BETA is giving you problems then simply install the Standard, fully released, version again.
You shouldn’t need to uninstall v7 first, just installing the Standard version again should remove v7.
You can download a Standard installer (currently v6.37.11523) from here: Download CCleaner builds | CCleaner Portable, Slim, and more
CCleaner 7 is a BETA test version; and as such it can be expected to have bugs that haven’t been ironed out.
That’s actually the whole point of a BETA test version of any software, to let a few people use it and find bugs.
As you can imagine Beta test versions are not for everyone, and if you are being offered one then you should really be warned that it is unfinished and probably buggy.
As far as is known by us then CCleaner 7 is only being offered to a few users.
None of us mods have seen it yet, and we only knew it even existed when users started asking about it here.
