Daily notice" You now have the latest version of CCleaner" - how to stop this!

not impressed - seems a poor way to impress your customers, and actually concerned. you could commit to something, like “We understand your concerns, we will report on in 3 days, once we have analyzed the problem and designed the solution, We will provide an implementation date at that time.”

Hi - have the same problem. My ID mis:

V7L5W

Hi All,
This issue is expected to be resolved in the upcoming CCleaner v7.4 update, which will be released soon.
If you continue to experience this problem after updating to v7.4, please reach out to me so we can investigate further.
Thank you for your patience!

I say that because when I made my first comment the account was put on hold… it happened. That may not be “fiddling”, and fully justified. I don’t have a problem with that. I noted it.
It seems this issue is a much bigger problem, or, not a major concern because there has been really only 1-way communications - with the customer left totally uninformed - a second time. Am I incorrect?

p.s. Thank you for your service.

it was an auto-hold (“typed too fast”) that, looking at the logs, i unblocked within an hour (EDIT: 33 min to be exact), but sure blame it on the humans

What is an “auto-hold”? How does that cause the problem? If you solved the problem, would you share it with us? Thanks.

sorry side conversation about @jvo1’s initial post being automatically marked as spam, and i was explaining that it was not us but the website.
The problem with CCleaner is likely solved in the upcoming release, per @Laurence_CCleaner

OK, thanks for the clarification. We eagerly await the v7.4 fix.

I created an account to report that I am also seeing this same behavior. And no way to shut it off. I am on version 7.3.1120.0

This is pretty lame considering that I have paid for a professional version subscription…Ccleaner has years of being a pretty solid running and reliable program…why these stupid oversights like disabling a popup window? This is basic software programming 101 turned gorilla marketing tactics…this just should not be a thing.

And to see that someone’s account got put on hold to validate their comments for reporting an issue is wild….

This is misinformation, one of the automatic spam filters is “first time poster typed too fast” (1) it took 33 min for a moderator to respond and tell the software that it wasn’t spam – not long considering there are 3 volunteer moderators two European and one American and one of the European was out for a well needed vacation.

Long story short there was no manual '“hold” especially not for anyone’s comments

(1) A filter that i object to as it often catches foreign users who use a translator then paste. But also i apprecitate the filter because spammers type paragraphs in seconds and need to be caught. That said as moderator I have no control over what filters are good/bad.

is there a anticipated or planned delivery date v7.4???

This month supposedly

Developers have provided no info and even the above is a guess based on their regular once a month release scheme

Hate to say it, but I’m beginning to think that the Piriform development staff is being irresponsible. Their product has a good reputation, but they are apparently unresponsive, other than empty promises about v.7.4 sometime in futurity.
So, I opened Win11 Task Scheduler>Library>Piriform and Disabled the top task (unidentified but recently run and still active) and the task that was labeled as a bug reporter, presumably to report bugs it found in your PC back to Piriform. The update task should be left in place, and the other had never run. None of the tasks were described in the General page, a common requirement for decent code.
The offending window immediately disappeared. Not sure if this is a good overall fix, certainly not as targeted as the one promised and never delivered by Piriform, but it can function as an anti-irritant until they get their act together. Very disappointing.

or more likely focused on bugs from ccleaner as a bug reporter with any software would do

Thank you Nergal - for your service.

One lesson I’m getting here is to do business with a company that is not “hiding” and you can contact.

The second one is that Microsoft has a history of building products that make 3rd party providers either have to get better serving their customers or they’ll be driven out of business when the functionality is seamlessly incorporated in their offerings.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi All,
We have just released CCleaner v7.4.
Please update to this version and let me know if you continue to experience this issue?

Thank you. We’ve uploaded it and will check it out over time.

Is the date for the latest build showing as correct here?

Thanks for highlighting this @hazelnut I will request this be corrected

FYI…. if you click on “manage your subscription” in ccleaner, you will need a “cleverbridge reference number” to get access to do so. It is not your license number and is a number in you original order email.

p.s. i’m not sure the annoying popup, preceding the opening of ccleaner is gone!!! we’ll see.
