Daily notice" You now have the latest version of CCleaner" - how to stop this!

I have installed CCleaner v. 7, and Every Morning I receive a pop-up window on my Win11 PC: “You now have the latest version of CCleaner. Check out what we have improved for you.” How can I stop this annoying reminder from appearing EVERY MORNING?

Hi @Airpilot1,
I have sent you a DM fro more details on this issue.

Any chance you can share the fix for this as it is driving me nuts every day having to close this same popup window? It usually appears around the same time everyday and has only happened since the update to v7. I have searched settings and schedules and can find no way of stopping the message other than giving up on CCleaner (even though I will have wasted money buying it) and uninstalling. Please help!

Hi @simong,
Thanks for sharing this screenshot.
Please follow these steps to help us investigate the issue:

  1. Replicate the issue on your end.
  2. In CCleaner, scroll to the bottom of the left-hand menu and click Help.
  3. Select CCleaner Support Tool from the options.
  4. Download and install the CCleaner Support Tool.
  5. Once installed, run the tool to generate the logs.
  6. At the end of the process, you’ll receive a 5-digit File ID.
  7. Please share that File ID with me so I can review the logs and investigate further.

If you have any issues please let me know.

Simong: I received the same email from Laurence at CCleaner after posting my complaint, but the problem disappeared on its own before I could reply to him.

I frankly do not understand why Laurence couldn’t just share the fix with all of us, since it appears on multiple PC’s (it appeared on two of mine before I went away). In any event, would you please share whatever fix Laurence provides with the community, in case the problem reappears on my or other community members’ PC’s? Thanks.

@Airpilot1,
There is curently not a fix for this issue if you are still experencing it please generate the support tool logs using the instuctitns above and send me the 4 digit fileID so we can continue to investigate this.

@Laurence_CCleaner

My file ID is JYNWQ

Thank you for the log files @tagteam I have sent these over to the team investigating the issue.

Hi, I’m having the same problem! ID : T3AFG

Hi Laurence, the File ID is: ZCTD3. I took the support info shortly after the daily pop up appeared again. I hope it helps. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Thanks

Thanks both for these log files, I have sent them over to the team investigating this issue and I will update you when I have more details.

same issue…HLP8Z

please be kind to your customers, end this annoyance

Thanks for these log files @jvo1, I have passed them to the team investigating the issue and will let you know when I have an update.

Laurence: May I respectfully suggest that your investigating team render an estimate of the time it will take for them to resolve this issue? CCleaner’s reputation is on the line here, and all we’re hearing is that you’ll let us know when you have an update. For a potentially formidable competitor in this space, CCleaner’s response so far has been lackluster, to say the least.

As a software developer, may I suggest a simple fix for your investigating team? Just patch the current version to delete the offending feel-good popup - it’s just advertising to folks who have already bought the latest version, so it really doesn’t add any value, and is certainly a detriment when it clogs our screens every morning. No one will miss that popup.

seems also to be a problem of a good product, backed by insensitivity and lackluster customer concern.

(they will now put my account on hold to vet my comments.)

jvo1: I doubt they’ll do anything vindictive. But in case you think they are, or that they aren’t taking our concerns seriously, there’s always social media…

If you aren’t a spambot/slave and aren’t cursing or treating other members/staff abusively why on earth would we fiddle with your post. The only post meddling I do is to censor (naughty words and competition software names) and remove sensitive items like keys, email addresses, phone numbers, cleverbridge number etc.

Hello Laurence:

It has been a week since we last discussed this problem. Is there any response from your developer? When might we hear about a fix? Remember, you can’t continue to sell CCleaner as a great product if you aren’t able or willing to fix it when there are legitimate complaints.

Thanks.

not a word…..

Hi @Airpilot1,
Our development team is actively investigating the issue, and while the work is still ongoing, I’m unable to provide a specific timeframe for resolution right now. Please know that we’re prioritizing this and will keep you updated as soon as we have more information.
