cCleaner opening popup after upgrade

Is it possible to stop having this annoying popup displayed after an upgrade of cCleaner?

Hi @Darkwolf-Lair,
Please could you send me an example of the pop-up you are seeing so I can advise you further on this?

I’m here with the same issue - further to the pop up coming up, it’s prompting me to upgrade to CCleaner pro - I have already upgraded to CCleaner pro. When I close the popup, it opens CCleaner and starts prompting me to run a scan - almost like it’s a new install. I check the settings and sure enough under ā€œMy subscriptionā€ it’s showing me on the free account and is asking me for a license key. It’s been so long that I don’t remember any key. This is the pop up screen that appears:

Yeah, I’m getting the same pop up and it appears randomly for no particular reason. I have changed absolutely nothing beyond regular Windows updates (Windows 11). This is definitely some sort of bug.

@ianjuby, please follow these steps to help us investigate the issue:

  1. Replicate the issue on your end.

  2. In CCleaner, scroll to the bottom of the left-hand menu and click Help.

  3. Select CCleaner Support Tool from the options.

  4. Download and install the CCleaner Support Tool.

  5. Once installed, run the tool to generate the logs.

  6. At the end of the process, you’ll receive a 5-digit File ID.

  7. Please share that File ID with me so I can review the logs and investigate further.

If you have any issues please let me know.

File ID JYNWQ

Thank you for the log files @tagteam I have sent these over to the team investigating the issue.

I do not have any options under help except ā€œGo to Help Centerā€ which of course takes me to the website help page. If I search for CCleaner Support Tool I find the download but it specifically says it is only for Version 6 and does not work for Version 7 which I have 7.3

Hi, just to confirm that I have the same windows as ianjuby.

@ianjuby & @Darkwolf-Lair,
When you click Help in the left menu of CCleaner 7, you should see the screen below.
If you are not seeing this, please send me a screenshot of what you are seeing so I can investigate this further.

This is all I got:

Note that the Support tool does not show in CCleaner 7 FREE version, and that is what the 2 screenshots above show.

The first is from CCleaner7 Professional, the second is CCleaner7 Free (as shown by the yellow ā€˜Upgrade now’ button).

This is what I have from my side :

Interface in French, free version.

This is a problem with the application, it started after the last update, everyone I know that uses CCleaner gets the same popup every single day, started a few weeks ago, never occurred before … frustrating!

For the record, I suspected this. Please note that in my original post I mentioned that although I had the paid version after the last update this pop-up started and it was showing me on the free version and asking me for a license key. It was so long ago that I paid for the version I don’t remember ever getting a license key, nor can I find one on my computer. If it’s a subscription, I may have let the subscription lapse but I also do not remember it being a subscription. All I know is that this pop up started and clearly kicked me out of the paid version at some point in time which I may not have noticed.

You could always check here to see if you get any info on your licence.

oh it was through cleverbridge! that’s why I couldn’t find it - I would’ve assumed it was just my corel subscription cause that’s what they use. Will go hunting now.

Several times a day, a notification appears saying that I have updated CCleaner version 7.3.1120.0, although this is not true, as it is a recurring notification, which is extremely annoying. There are many similar notifications on the net, but, as users say, there is no response from the CCleaner administration. I ask you what is happening and when do you plan to fix this, more than obvious error.

Since the last upgrade, around the same time every day I get the following popup message … I changed from ā€œAuto Updateā€ to ā€œManual Updateā€ and I still get it … please fix this. Thanks
