Am using version 6.36.11508 and it’s not removing my browsing history from Chrome. Immediately after running Ccleaner, I go out to Chrome and even though the cache files have been removed, the history is still there if I click on browsing history in Chrome.
It’s a known issue due to changes made in Chrome v137, see here:
Version 6.37 was just released but Browsing History is still not being removed in Edge and Brave, etc.
What’s the point of releasing version 6.37 when the main problem isn’t fixed? Chrome is still not cleaned, and not only the history but also cache files, cookies, etc., are not being cleared.
Also Chrome extensions CCleaner always shows as disabled.
I see only added adware into that program sice 6.36, but important problems are not solved.
this is the sole reason i use this software and it hasnt worked in a month, why is it taking so long? Software is useless, just creates more ads on my system.
You are aware that you can easily set Chrome to clear it’s History on closing the window?
Most browsers have settings to let you do that.
That isn’t the point. The point is, Ccleaner isn’t doing what it’s advertised to do. Whoever wrote the software isn’t maintaining it.
So you telling us uninstall CCleaner and use Chrome built in function? Nice!
No skin off my nose, I’m not an employee.
As a user I’m allowed to criticize what the company is doing, - just like any other user is.
I’m simply reminding people that most of what CCleaner does can be done in other ways, and some of them are even automatic - such as browsers cleaning their own history/cookies/etc. when you close them.
Thats not solution for me. I not delete cookies in browser, but only in CCleaner, because some cookies I have set not to delete, which cannot be achieve inside Chrome.
Fair enough, personally I clear the lot and if that means that I the have to (eg) log into sites again then so be it.
Plus you are generally more secure not staying logged into sites - that’s why your bank etc. log you out automatically.
not to digress, but sites like this are fairly safe to stay logged in and it would be a pain to sign into CCleaner.com or other forums that i visit multiple times a day. one reason i still use CCleaner is the browser monitoring to clean everything except what i want to save.
that said i haven’t noticed this on edge choromium except in the address bar no matter how much cleaning (including in-browser clearing of everything (pita)) nothing has made it forget where I’ve been.
i don’t think it’s a CCleaner problem, except to learn what’s changed in chromium (as it’s been reported on edge ch, chrome and brave (which i believe is chromium)) and change CCleaner appropriately (which may take time)
This is now happening for me
This is happening on the latest chromium 138.0.7204.49 with the latest ccleaner for windows.
Happens on any chromium browser, Chrome, Brave etc.
New ccleaner beta 7 release yesterday, still not working.
UI Is completely changed, less features, buggy, runs like shit.
I’m done with this, lost a customer cya.
As the name says it is a BETA - it is not fully released, it is a testing version.
Beta versions are often buggy, that is the whol point of them, to let users find the bugs.
