7 Beta Feedback

I’ve installed and opened the new 7 Beta version and I’ve got to say I don’t like the UI or the fact that it changed some of my settings from my current version of Premium (v6.37.11523). I haven’t taken the time yet to figure out how to view and configure the settings for app cleaning and don’t know if I’ll bother since I think new versions should be easier to navigate rather than more difficult.

For what it’s worth ‘Configure settings in CCleaner 7’: CCleaner Support Community

CCleaner 7 is a Beta test version and as such it can be expected to be unfinished and to have bugs.
That’s actually the whole point of a BETA test version of any software, to let a few people use it and find bugs.
As you can imagine Beta test versions are not for everyone, and if you are being offered one then you should really be warned that it is unfinished and probably buggy.

If you have installed the CCleaner 7 BETA and it is giving you problems, or you just don’t like it, then simply install the Standard, fully released, version again.

You shouldn’t need to uninstall v7 first, just installing the Standard version again should remove v7.
You can download a Standard installer for the current full release from here: Download CCleaner builds | CCleaner Portable, Slim, and more

Thanks, but I’m aware of what a BETA test version is and if I hadn’t it was explained in the invitation to download and install it I recieved. There is also a download and install radio button that appeared on my current version.

As my subject states, it’s FEEDBACK..

Thanks @Surfwriter

That’s fine, and my comments were more for others who are looking for threads about CCleaner-7.

We mods have very little information about it ourselves, I personally haven’t see any invitation or buttons.

You say that you got an ‘invitation’ to download it and now see a button in the Standard version.
If you still see the button then could you post a screenshot so that other users can see what it looks like and where it appears? thanks.

I too think the interface is terrible. Also after installing and double checking the settings, I ran a Junk file clean and it deleted all of my Downloads and everything in My Documents. Luckily I had a backup to restore.

Not a fan of the new interface, I find it way more complicated and can’t find the Tools option which I use a lot. For me its just way to overcomplicated with so many options that I have no idea what they do. Maybe I am so used to how the older versions looked and just find it difficult to change. I am hoping that this beta will be added too when the final release is ready otherwise unfortunately I will have to look elswere.

This is Nukecad’s standard, and rude, answer to everyone in this forum. If you have a problem or comment about a beta version, like Version 7, then you should just uninstall it and go back to the released version. Is that a nice comment to beta testers?

I have the two screen shots. Can you suggest a way to post it in a reply?

On the forum there is no area for feedback on the beta 7 version apart from this thread that someone started.
Moderators have been given absolutely no information at all on the beta version.
There are no comments from admin, they seem to have deserted the forum now.
This puts us mods in the awful position of trying to help and advise users on something we have no knowledge of (we have not been offered it.)
The only advice we can offer at the moment is to go back to the stable version if you have issues with version 7.
I cannot understand why a company would offer a beta version and not set up support either through the program itself, or in a dedicated forum area with dev/admin support.
Piriform/CCleaner dev/admin support seems non-existent here on the forum now.

@Surfwriter Thanks for the screenshots.

The second one does say that it is a Beta version for invited users to test.
Of course that makes an assumption that the invited user will already know just what a Beta version is and that it is an unfinished version that may not function as expected.

I’m the someone who started the thread because I couldn’t find any other way to provide feedback. Of course I already know that I could uninstall the Beta version and it in no way compromised my existing version. So no harm.

It does seem strange that the company appears to not be interested in feedback from the testers.

Yes, I’ve noticed that. That is why I’m a beta tester for Avast Cleanup.

You know of course that Avast bought Piriform (Ccleaner) and they are now in turn owned by GenDigital along with AVG and Avira.

Yes, but they listen.

sadly, at least as far as the forum, they MAY be listening, though at times i doubt it, but, as a 1year (so twelve versions ago at least ) or so rule, they don’t deign to show up in the forum.
