  1. Thanks Glen will have a play with it again. Any suggestions on the multiple user query I had ?

Deleting the prefetch folder contents helps speed up your slowing aging pc. if left full your pc will slowly slow to a halt even if you clean the rest of the crap out.

I downloaded ccleaner from the site but never had the option for basic or slim version otherwise trust me I would have not put yahoo on my system.

When you install, one of the screens present various tick boxes - desktop shortcut etc etc, bottom one is Yahoo - untick it and you're fine. I agree - I hate it when they sneak things in as extras - IMHO, the box should be unticked as standard and need user to tick it during install if want Yahoo - but then I suppose they wouldn't make any money from Yahoo??

  2. At the moment you can't have it automatically clean other accounts, but I *think* it is a planned feature.

If you just install the upgrade over the old version it *should* keep all your settings and custom folders.

:( Nope - custom folders disappear with each upgrade - a real PITA :(

  3. I have multiple accounts on the computer and find it a real pain to have to log in to each one to clear out their dross.

I added their temp folders etc into the Options/Custom area but (i) the process is tedious in the extreeme as CC doesn't remember wich directory you are in when you add a second folder meaning you ave to re-negotiate the folder tree each time and (ii) all these settings are wiped when you upgrade!!!

Would it be possible to add in every users temp folders as standard (or if nothing else, don't trash the Custom folders data on upgrading!) :(

  4. I would like to know if ccleaner can be setup to do extra duties.

IE delete windows prefetch folder contents as well.

I often play with friends computers as well and would find this tool so handy if I could go into the main adminastrator account and run it for all users regardless if they have passwords or not this would make my tasks a lot easier.

    Thanks

You could add Prefetch folder to optional folders to delete section??

  5. Or you could just run it from your account. Right click on the short cut, and choose "run as". Enter the user name and password for the account that you want to clean, and run as normal. I too have three accounts on my machine, though only one with admin rights. This method works very well for me.

Why can CC simply clean up all the dross from EVERY account on the computer?
