  1. When I click OPTIONS>COOKIES I see a long list of cookies in the "Cookies to Delete" column. However when I click CLEANER, and select "cookies" under the Internet Explorer category, the unwanted cookies do not delete. What am I doing wrong?

  2. Is there a specific file, or set of files, where IE Internet history, web searches, typed URL's etc, are stored? What would be that file's location? When I open CCleaner>Windows>Internet Explorer, and run the itmes listed under that category, my computer often acts unstable after the next reboot. Why would it not be better to go directly to those files and delete the items in that file?

  3. CCleaner does not work as a system restore Rob.

What it does do is when you do an "issues" clean it offers you the option to save a back up of the registry entries it is going to delete. This is saved by default in my documents and you right-click and choose merge to reinstall them, but only if you chose to use this backup option when offered it.

Firery's ideas of reinstalling drivers sounds about right (sorry for the pun, not intended!)

Actually, I've uninstalled-reinstalled several tmes. The attached screen shots show the current status. All suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks. Robt

  4. How do I roll back CCleaner to a previous restore point? My speakers will not work, and I'm suspecious I accidentally deleted something I shouldn't have during my last cClean.

And also, will this roll back delete new files and work I've created since that last restore point?

    Thanks.

  5. I've been advised to get updated video drivers for my Dell Dimension 4500. But Dell's driver download site shows about five driver selections for my computer. How can I tell which would be best. My Monitor is newer than the CPU. It is a Dell E196FP 19-inch Flat Panel Monitor.

The reason for this inquiry is because my new HP Scanjet 4890 is conflicting with my present Monitor setup. When I click on the scanner software program called "HP Solution", my computer monitor goes black for about 4 seconds, and then it lights up again, but all the icons including the HP Solution screen, are in harsh, abnormally vivid colors. When I close that program, there is again a 4 second darkness, and then the screen lights up and is perfectly normal again.
