  1. Update:

    Problem kind of solved.

Used Easeus recovery and performed deepscan in lost partition.

    Managed to recover images.

Now all folderstructure named by date is lost, and all images is mixed by camera they where taken with.

So i do have quite a lot of work ahead....

    Lesson learned, the hard way

  2. Hi omartin.

Only the suggestions I spent a long time putting together for a previous poster with exactly the same problem as yourself. And by remarkable coincidence with the same size 1TB drive formatted by the same software, "MS Media Creation Tool".

The other poster didn't bother to reply which was disappointing considering the time and effort I gave to him.

Other than what you see in that linked to reply I have nothing else to offer I'm afraid.

Thankyou so much Dennis D for pointing me in any direction.

As i write this, Easeus data recovery is running. It gave me the opportunity to search in lost partition and is coming up with 2000 and counting  files so far.

If they are savable is yet to see. If they do, think i buy the pro version. It is still much cheaper than hand it in to the pros at 1000$ asking price here in town.

Sorry i did not see the earlier post myself, but i did not recognize the words lost partition as relevant. Im a far much better photographer than IT user.....

To really rub it in, when i looked again at the Microsoft download page again today it clearly states that download media has to be empty since all data will be lost....

I will leave a feedback of the outcome of this.

    Best regards

  3. Last night i needed to reinstall windows 10 on a laptop.

In lack of a sufficient usb flash device i used a Seagate 1tb external disc to download  media creation tool from Microsoft.

It contained more than 200 gb of photos....

Now it seems that Media creation Tool formatted the disc as it only shows as a 32 gb  edb-usb device.

I bought and ran Recuva, in several scans. Including deep scan. it takes  10 minutes to perform a scan and only finds 8 pictures to recover....

    Any suggestions ?

    Slightly panicked
