[AVG insists ccleaner.exe is threat.]

This is likely a false positive caused by the bundled google/or/dropbox/or/VyperVPN installer offers. The only case where there would be an actual worry is if you didn't get ccleaner from piriform, cnet or file hippo. Do you have AVG set to flag PuP (potentially unwanted programs).

I don't because I use Malwarebytes as a secondary trouble scanner - and it is very PuP sensitive.

Many thanks, guys! As I always and only download direct from Piriform, I went with MTA and the problem is resolved. Good job, too - the amount of clutter I'd accumulated!

Running up-to-date AVG Internet Security 2015 and latest CCleaner Since the last CCleaner update and/or the latest AVG IS update, AVG insists that ccleaner.exe is an unknown threat.

 

Does anyone else have experience of this? Worked out what to do?
