CCleaner ccsetup 5.01, 5.02, & 5.03 locking up. in CCleaner Posted February 27, 2015 I've been unable to install 5.01, 5.02, or 5.03 CCleaner. (I'm still running 4.18.) I've been downloading off of filehippo link given and I have no problem installing CCleaner on my home machine running Windows 8.1. What happens whether I run as administrator or not on Windows 7 on my workstation at work. 1. Starts installing. 2. Asks for permission to run as administrator (if not starting as administrator). 3. Click Next & Install for a default installation. 4. Green bar starts moving and stops at 2 cm. 5. An icon "ping.exe" shows up on my desktop with a signature from C3 SoftWorks, Inc. and version 3.0.0.0. 6. Clicking on the "Details" says, "Please wait, installing CCleaner..." 7. Nothing happens afterwards. I can leave it in this state for a few days, but I eventually have to use task manager to kill the process. Questions: 1. Why does CCleaner install ping.exe? 2. Is my company's firewall blocking some communication which stops the installer in its tracks?
