  1. Instead of installing older versions of CCleaner, for the time being just go to internet options and select history under the delete options and then select clear browsing history on exit. It solves this problem and CCleaner seems to be working fine with everything else on IE10 right now.

Recognizing that this response is moving off the topic, this suggestion does impel the question how safe is it relying on the browser to clear its own history properly without leaving any traces? I mean isn't the whole purpose of CCleaner to scrub these traces better than the browser can?

  2. I just tried it with my add-ons disabled and it still occurred that links remained purple, although I really don't find this to be much of a problem.

Guess it depends what you use CCleaner for, but I use it to scrub my internet browsing history each night. The fact that it continues to display visited links after the scrub is very much of a problem for me.

I noticed the problem with Google and Yahoo retaining the link history after the scrub with version 4.02. The problem does not appear to occur with 4.01 (at least for me) in IE10. I'm inclined to discount IE10 being the cause for these reasons.

  3. I have been using CCleaner on all my computers for 3 or 4 years without issues, until I noticed this week that CCleaner will not delete the browser history on IE 10 (which I just got around to upgrading to in the past couple of weeks) running on my Windows 7 Home 64-bit HP netbook (AMD E-450 with 8 MB Ram).

Particularly, the links inside of Craigslist remain in purple showing the links I have clicked, even after running CCleaner.

I used CCleaner to uninstall CCleaner, and then reinstalled the latest version of CCleaner, again, and tested, but the problem persists.

I've looked over all the settings and everything seems to be checked "on" and I had not changed anything anyway for some years, so I don't know why CCleaner is now not deleting all the history files.

I think perhaps this newest version (4.02.4115) might have a bug in it when trying to run on the latest version of MS IE 10?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

Yes I just noticed the same thing too with MS IE 10 on Win 7 64-bit. I'm assuming that there is a bug in 4.02.4115. I've reverted back to the prior version 4.01.4093 (which appears to work correctly) for now until this is fixed.
