[Second defrags after first one starts all over?]

That's the reason because I NEVER use the regular DEFRAG button. Its free space consolidation routines tend to shuffle all data around everytime you run it, even if there is no fragmentation to begin with. Too bad there should be an option to do a quick "fill gaps" operation or to skip free space consolidation altogether.

Does it use MS task scheduler to run?

 

When it is run on a schedule does the GUI not open? In the MS task scheduler it says it is running but no GUI shows. If opened manually it says running in background

 

What does C:\users\username\df.exe C:/ts/user "username" app path "C:\users\username mean? The first part is calling the exe is it

 

What is the highlighted bit where username is the actual username of the user. It shows on arguments when MS task scheduler properties. Is a scheduled defrag meant to start the defrag or open the GUI so that the user can start it

[V 2.10.424 no shell extension]

As in the title have v 2.10.424 and enable shell extension is greyed out.

 

Save settings to ini file is not checked

 

I have seen this issue with portable but this is not portable is it, I had to install it? Vista 32 bit laptop
