  1. Thanks the developers will look into this :)

p.s. you really should upgrade to SP3 SP2 is old, flawed and no longer under support from Microsoft, this will probably not solve your issue as I believe something is fighting the S.M.A.R.T. reading of one of the drive. I Have posted this in error. It seems there is no SP3 for windows XP x64 and SP2 (for x64) will be supported (according to microsoft) until April 2014

:( Sorry to advise, latest 1.08 release (portable) still vexed by HARD hang. Must start with /DEBUG and have SMART options unselected.

  2. I've been using both Firefox and Ccleaner for many years now, and Ccleaner not cleaning Firefox has been a problem for a while. No matter what version of either I use, Ccleaner will only clean Firefox the first time after installation. After that, I get no results showing that it has done so. I've uninstalled and reinstalled both. I make sure that there are no Firefox.exe processes running, and Ccleaner will not clean anything from Firefox. My .ini file confirms that Firefox is selected to be cleaned, and the progress bar shows Firefox being cleaned, yet no results. Currently, I am running FF 3.6.13, and Ccleaner 3.02 on WinXP Pro SP3. Please help.

As an experiment I would suggest that you run CCLEANER as a portable, i.e. not installed, but from a flash drive. I use it everyday that way and it appears to work. Then again I am running on XP 64..

  3. can you save as a text file (within speccy File>save as text file) then attach it here?

note open the text first and make sure it doesn't list your windows license key if it does replace the key with the word removed or something. Im not sure if it does because mine is a volume key so it just says a bunch of b's

Certainly.. Hope this is that which youMAPINFO1.txt seek.

  4. RonG thanks that's exactly the information they need

can you confirm that if you check everything except for smart it does not hang?

if so can you run a speccy (via "File>Publish Snapshot" in speccy menu) of the system (using debug without smart checked) and post the link to this thread

Sorry for delay. YES, I can confirm and do that speccy runs in debug mode with SMART options unchecked. I have tried the publish snapshot, but never receive a url, only a Publish Snapshot popup with three option buttons:

    1. Open In Browser

    2. Copy to Clipboard

    3. Close

    Suggestions?

  5. HI

I have a similar problem with Speccy. It stops working and a Windows 7 error message comes up saying "the program has stopped working".

This happens while Speccy is checking the ram and MB.

    Windows 7 x64

    Gigabyte UD3R

    Corsair Dominator 1600 3x2gb

    PowerColour HD6850

    Thanks

    Dave

At least WIN7 is somewhat more robust than XP64!

  6. Greetings!

An obviously h/w configuration dependent hang, but the system MUST be powered off (UNPLUGGED!) to recover.

    Specifics:

    HP xw9300 with:

    Two AMD Opteron 250 processors

    2GB RAM

    2 WD SATA hds

    1 DVD ROM

    1 DVD R/W

    ! NVidia Quadro FX 540

    Mobo Chipset NVidia NForce etc..

Most things enumerated/identified except the RAM and disc drives. If the Piriform s/w developers are interested in additional details, please let me know and I will be happy to provide as available. :)
