  1. Can they be removed now?

Yes, they were removed but these three appear again in the next reboot (opening ccleaner as the first program)

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\MUICache]

    "@C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\hnetwiz.dll,-3085"="Asistente para configuraci?n de red"

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\MUICache]

    "@C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\mstsc.exe,-4000"="Conexi?n a Escritorio remoto"

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\MUICache]

    "@C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\restore\\rstrui.exe,-2048"="Restaurar sistema"

the others appear too after working with the computer for a while...

  2.

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply I tried your program but it still happens the same. I used the repair permissions option as it says in the link you gave me. I think that's something related with windows xp x64 because in the 32bit version Ccleaner doesn find problems with this keys.

Here there is the complete list of the "rebel" keys (I forgot two of them)

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\MUICache]

    "@C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\cmprops.dll,-1"="Propiedades del sistema"

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\MUICache]

"@C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\ntmsmgr.dll,-4"="Extensi?n de Almacenamiento de medios extra?bles"

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\MUICache]

"@C:\\WINDOWS\\System32\\RCBdyctl.dll,-150"="Incidente de asistencia remota de Microsoft "

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\MUICache]

    "@C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\hnetwiz.dll,-3085"="Asistente para configuraci?n de red"

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\MUICache]

    "@C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\mstsc.exe,-4000"="Conexi?n a Escritorio remoto"

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\MUICache]

    "@C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\restore\\rstrui.exe,-2048"="Restaurar sistema"

  3. Hi,

I'm using Ccleaner 1.29 in windows xp x64 and everytime I reboot some keys that ccleaner cleaned appear again.

    The Keys are

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\MUICache]

    "@C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\restore\\rstrui.exe,-2048"="Restaurar sistema"

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\MUICache]

    "@C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\mstsc.exe,-4000"="Conexi?n a Escritorio remoto"

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\MUICache]

    "@C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\hnetwiz.dll,-3085"="Asistente para configuraci?n de red"

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\MUICache]

"@C:\\WINDOWS\\System32\\RCBdyctl.dll,-150"="Incidente de asistencia remota de Microsoft "

All of them are Windows related keys so perhaps ccleaner shouldn't remove them, as I don't find anything wrong with this files.

Thanks and keep up the good work

  5. This is on WinXP Home so I'm not sure how it would work on other operating systems.

Windows Update creates 5 sub-folders and multiple logging files in:

    C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution

It tends to become cluttered with the downloaded update files.

To clean it out then do the following procedure.

Please click Start, click Run, type in "cmd" (without quotations) and press Enter.

Please run the following commands in the opened window to clean out the folder.

    1. Type in "net stop WuAuServ" (without quotations) and press Enter.

You will receive a message stating the Automatic Updates service was stopped successfully.

    2. Delete all the folders and files in C:\WINDOWS\softwaredistribution

    3. Type in "net start WuAuServ" (without quotations) and press Enter to restart the Automatic Updates service...

This also has an added benefit of fixing Windows Update when it incorectly installs updates.

Just wanted to point out that at least the folders inside "C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download" would be easy to delete for ccleaner as it isn't necessary to do any "net stop".

The "C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download" folders are the bigger ones so it would be great that in a future version CCleaner removes them.

  6. Have you planned x64 support soon?

The only problems I've noticed are in the Registry cleaner part, which deletes lots of application shortcuts like defrag and other windows components, it says: Missing shortcut reference.

It also reports some other errors under x64 like Missing MUI reference, Invalid default icon...

  7. NO it doesn't work well on Windows X64. With 1.26 version CCleaner removes shortcuts of Windows system utilities like Defrag, Services, etc. I think there is some type of problem reading the 64bit shortcuts or something. Hope it will be fixed in the future, because I think CCleaner doesn't need lots of changes in order to work perfect with 64bit Windows.
