I got the same thing on Windows 7 32 bit.

I had a problem when I added FDM to my winapp2.ini (not previously) and solved it by removing downloads.del.sav, schedules.sav, mctasks.sav and *.bak from the .ini list.

I'm using the new release (.1153) and thumbnails are being cleaned.

Thanks to the folks at Piriform for resolving the issue in the latest release.

Having all the favicons disappear was a bit of a surprise that I could have done without. It's easy enough to exclude the folder, but it's possible to delete those from within Opera itself and I wouldn't call that an "improvement" to the history cleaning.

Run it through the task scheduler at start-up and check the "run with highest privileges" box and you'll avoid the UAC prompt.
