  1. Yeah just right click and merge the .reg file or double click it. It also wouldn't hurt to restart Windows after doing so.

The School System's tech support guy drove over and fixed the problem

(whatever it was) before I got there. But thanks for replying Andavari.

Your instruction will come in handy should I get myself into any more

tight spots like that. Have a great day my friend!

  2. Hi All,

Last night I went to my wife's classroom to change screensavers for her.

While there, I downloaded and ran CCleaner, because it made our home

    PC work better.

Just now, she calls saying that the kids can't log into the Novell Network

from that P.C. and several program aren't working. She's  !

I did backup the registry as CCleaner prompted before running the

    cleanups.

Before advising her to restore the registry, I want to know if these

intructions from the FAQ page of www.CCleaner.com are accurate and

    complete:

"How do I restore registry backups?

Right-click on the .REG file created and select 'Merge'.

By default these files will be saved into your 'My Documents' folder. "

Seems to me that maybe there is another step after the files are auto

saved to the MyDocuments folder? Any advice is appreciated. The school

    is running Windows98.

    Thankyou in advance,
