When I try to merge a previous backup I receive the following error message: Cannot access the registry. How can I otherwise recover a prior backup?
Thanks to all help!

Does anyone know why there are leftover files that can't be defragged even though they show they are fragmented?

Does anyone know why you would have less free space after running Defraggler than you did before you defragged? I am using Vista Home Basic, IE7, 34bit. This looks like it defeats the purpose of defragging.

I'm not sure if this will restore "Windows Live Sign-In Assistant" but it might be worth trying.
Go to "Add/Remove Programs" click on "Windows Live Essentials" then on change/remove.
A wizard will start giving you the options to uninstall or repair.
Choose repair.
If this doesn't work, then uninstalling and reinstalling will bring it back
as it is integrated with the main installation.
Repairing Windows Live Essentials didn't work. I'll try reinstalling.....thanks for your help!

Download the installer from Microsoft here. I don't know if there's a stable build or not, it's the first thing Google turned up in a search which is a Beta, and it's for Windows 7 Beta.
I'm using Vista Home Basic, IE8....don't know if this will still work, but will give it a try.
Thanks!

By mistake, I uninstalled "Windows Live Sign-In Assistant." The only Live product I use is email. If I need this product, how can I recover it? Any help is appreciated!
