Naaww, don't turn that stuff off.
Just my opinion, but that shouldn't be necessary and isn't safe.
If it won't install, go the long way around. Uninstall the old one, restart, install the new one.
If that won't work, there is some other problem so post back.
I agree, its my practice to uninstall any and all applications, a clean install is the proper way in smart computing, but before you install larger apps run the "Drive Wiper" to make for a clean surface.
Thanks..

When your ready to clean up the analyzing process hangs for a brief moment,
previous builds didn't do that.

I like most of the improvements made in CCleaner v3, but I think the icons got a downgrade. Anyone else feel the same? I liked the old icons much better. Hopefully, they will revert back or create some better ones.
Agreed!

Or visit the download builds page and grab either the Slim installer, or Portable version, neither of which include the toolbar.
Sorry it took so long to reply to this tool bar thread, just remove the tic out of that
box.
Thanks guys!

Yes you can.
Just a suggestion, don't use the Registry Cleaner IF you do not know what you are doing.
CCleaner just launches the default uninstaller of the app. So it is safe.
Thanks! that's excellent advice on using the cleaner, one wrong decision could be the
difference between a clean computer or having a rather large door stop. It seems
some people are having issues with IE 8 and wondered whether or not they could
remove it, me included, I run Windows XP Pro SP2, normally add or remove would
be the way to uninstall it, on my machine that isn't an option, so thanks for the
heads up..

You can read all about it here:
...and read the announcements forum about new versions to see a brief changes log.
Thank you!!
"Post Note"
I still think it should be highlighted, there are others like me that missed it by
not looking in the FAQ

When you open the cleaner under advanced settings scroll down to "Wipe Free Space" I've been using the cleaner for more than a year, last week I found that option. Yes I know it took me long enough, that's my suggestion use emboldened letters, paint it red anyway you deem proper, that way the other members at World Start Message Boards will know that feature exists...
Thanks guys!

User Assist History
in CCleaner

Thanks guys, one question answered lots more to come but I'm thinking the FAQ should answer some of them. Many users don't use some of the settings because they don't understand computer lingo then fear steps in so they will never realize the benefits of CCleaner which is really ashame because it is hands down the best tool on the table as compared to the rest of the pack.
Thanks again..
