  1. No; you can't. Just copy the program shortcut to the All Users menu :)

(Not sure how it behaves under non-admin accounts though ... I'm presuming it behaves normally)

    Thank you marmite

My apology for long reply time...as I am subscribed by default ...I was expecting email notice of your message...no email as I recall....only just found my original post and your message....thanks

re > Just copy the program shortcut to the All Users menu.....Do you follow same install process for CCleaner and Defraggler (presuming you use both). I have both populated to each user account All Programs & Program Start menu. I think my install for CC and Defr rendered and populated to all my user accounts. So, I was expecting same experience with Recuvia. Comments ? Suggestions ? Opinions ?

  2. Hello Recuva Forum

New to Recuva....long time user of CCleaner & Defraggler.

I downloaded/installed Recuva to one of my four user accounts. I have two Admin / two Standard user accounts (Vista 32bit)

I expected Recuva to populate into All Programs for my user accounts. If my memory serves me...My install of CCleaner & Defraggler populated to my user accounts ~ All Programs / Desktop Icon / Start Menu Icon. & Recuva did not. Recuva only populated into the user account All Programs in the user account it was installed.

Question: Should I install Recuva in/for each user account.

I may access recuva.exe from C:\Programs Files and I may pin recuva.exe to my other user account Start menu's.

Question: Is Recuva in anyway user account specific and to function optimally should I install Recuva in/for each user account.

Thanks for your time and interest in my issue

    Regards

    bjm

  5. Good day,

I have two Admin Accounts. I did a clean download/install of CCleaner to each Admin Account. My issue is that with Admin Account #1 the Reg Cleaner Backup Right Click Merge is available and with Admin Account #2 the Reg Cleaner Right Click Merge is not available. In Admin Account #2 Reg Cleaner Backup Right Click is "Open" not "Merge". I tried a second clean install into Admin #2 with a default location name change with no change is issue. My registry Scan for Issues in Admin #2 displays different Issues from Admin #1. I'm reluctant to Fix Reg Issues for Admin #2 until I resolve ... "Why no Reg Cleaner Backup Merge option for Admin Account #2.

post update > I tried a regedit export and the exported file does not have Merge option also. Issue apparently not related to CCleaner. Admin Account #2 was originally a Standard User Account....that may be cause of no Merge option?

  6. From my own experience you would have to log in to each individual account and run CCleaner from there in order to clean the tracks related to that account ;)

  7. Welcome to the forums bjm,

By default, CCleaner should have been installed to C:\Program Files\CCleaner\. You should be able to nagivate to this directory and run CCleaner from there. You can also then create shortcuts to that file on the start menu and desktop from your user account.

    Hope this helps!

So simple....BIG HELP....who knew? I was only looking in my User Account - All Programs....not the brightest bulb in the box....I pinned shortcut to my User Account Start Menu....

When CCleaner is run from a Standard User Account will CCleaner only service that User Account. If I clean IE tracks for example, Will I only be cleaning IE tracks for that User Account?

  8. Please explain this text from your FAQ's.

Do I need to be an administrator to run this?

Ideally yes. Although you can still run this as a normal or restricted user, however, some files may not be deleted.

My install of CCleaner did not populate into my Standard User Account. Don't understand how I may run CCleaner from and for my Standard User Accounts if install does not populate beyond Admin Account. Hope you do not consider this query a Vista compatibility question. I'm sure all products work with Vista. Q: How do I run CCleaner from and for User Account if it's not in my User Accounts?

    Respectfully submitted
