  1. Hello Nikki605, I did the same search as yourself, I am just curious why I have to do the clean 2 or 3 times to get them to delete, its not a real problem, but cc has always cleaned 1st time on anything else before, but not these.

Thanks for looking into to this for me, I suppose I will have to live with it,

    Many Thanks dodgy.

  2. Hello Alan, the term glich was born of a lack of understanding, and believing that cc was at fault, but now now you have explained, I know better.

Alan I have deleted windows live mail and now use messenger, but on the control panel I still have Windows live sign in assistant and Windows live upload tool, is it possible to delete these or are they necessary.

I would have to keep Windows live essentials as this contains messenger.

You mention that it would be better to close "live" before running cc, how do you do this ??

I should mention that I have no complaints with cc and have always advocated its use.

Thanks for your advice, hope you can help me again.

  3. Hello winapp, seem to have cured problem, removed new cc 310, and downloaded old version 309, the ms logs did not appear, tried going back to the new one (310) and they reappeared, so at the moment I am going to use 309, untill cc sort out this glitch ?? not sure why this happens, maybe someone from cc will enlighten me.

Thanks for your help, and if you can shed any light on this would be grateful.

  4. Hello winapp2, I am using vista 32 and firefox 4, I think the logs are connected to either windows live mail or messenger, its odd that these never used to show untill using the latest cc.

These are showing as "c:\programdata\microsoft\search\data\applications\windows\mssooocb.log" and each is given a new number, can't seem to find the source of this on my computer, hope this helps.

  5. Hello, does anyone know why cc will not clean something called "windows ms search" this has only started since downloading the recent version of cc 3.10.1525. You have to clean two to three times before it goes.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

  6. Hey dodgy !!!

You will have to forgive me. I called you "geezer" instead of "dodgy".

Looks like you really are a "dodgy geezer".

You found those "cookies". Next time save some and we can all EAT a couple.

    Good luck, :) davey

P.S. If this keeps occurring please let us know.

Also thanks for letting us know where you found them. This may help some other users as well.

Hello davey, no probs mate, the username is the name of my boat, its good fun though.

Something I should mention is that on the first two searches the cookies did not appear, and only showed themselves on the third seach <_<<_<

Perhaps it might be good for people to do more then one search.

  7. Hello davey, yes I have 815 and yes all tabs are checked, they always have been, until this particular day I have never had a problem with CC removing cookies, and now suddenly I have this block of 9 cookies that refuse to delete.

I have done a search for cookies and my computor claims I don't have any ??

Hello davey, I did a second search for cookies and this time was directed to a firefox/mozilla/profiles/nexned and there they were, so I deleted the file and ran CC again and this time no cookies :D:D:D

Thanks for helping davey speak again.

  8. Hello Geezer,

    Welcome !!! :D

The latest version of CCleaner is v 2.15.815.

Do you have "Cookies" checked for Internet Explorer on the Windows tab and Firefox "cookies" on the Applications tab?

Some users have discovered after using the newer versions of CCleaner that old "cookies" files are still on their PC from old versions of various browsers. How about Opera or Google Chrome, do you have them checked in your Applications tab. You should if they still appear on the Applications tab.

Do a Search on "Cookies" and see if you can find any.

    :) davey

  9. Merry Christmas everyone,

I am using Vista with Forefox, on the 19/12/08 nine cookies appeared on CC and they refuse to delete, I am totally baffled because nothing I try will remove them. My version of CC is the latest and I have never had a problem before.

Can anyone advise. I have put the cookies in the form of a attachment.

  10. Under the Cleaner tab, even though I checked Cookies for both IE 6 and 7 and Firefox 3.04, a bunch remain under the "Cookies to delete" tab after running Cleaner.
