  1. ActiveX in IE (which is probably what you disabled) is different than ActiveX in the operating system (but only slightly).

    Try:

    Start, Run...

    regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCSubTimer.dll"

    regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCSystem.dll"

    regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCListView.ocx"

    regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCTab.ocx"

    regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCTreeView.ocx"

try each one until it works again ;)

(I'm not sure which ones are really supposed to be registered, because the installer's details window flies through so fast)

reply: I'm pretty naive about all of this. I don't even know what ActiveX is whether in IE terms or otherwise. But i did try the five lines about. the first two generated : "Load Libray (" the line..") failed. The specificed module could not be found. the last three "suceeded," but CCleaner still did not run. more suggestions?

thanks. could you email me at b2005erkeley@yahoo? thanks!!!

  2. i was trying to run CCleaner and got the following:

    run-time error '429'

    ActiveX component cannot create object.

what does this mean? what shall i do?

    thanks!
