  1. The only solution is to untick the cleaning of Office in CCleaner to keep your settings, otherwise they'll get wiped out with the cleaning of Office

Do a forum search for Word and/or Office and you'll see a good sized amount of other posts about the Word settings getting wiped out, it isn't nothing new and pops up from time to time from people not expecting their settings to be removed.

Unticking Office in CCleaner does not appear to fix this - any other ideas?

    Thanks.

  2. Hello, Just gotten a "critical error" Anybody knows what this means, or whether I should be concerned, or what I need to do (if anything)

Here's the text of the error message:

The thread attempted to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access

    CCleaner v2.05.555

    MS Windows XP SP2

    Intel Pentium M processor 1.70GHz

    512MB RAM

    ATI MOBILITY RADEON 7500

    Application::Run

    Thanks, NM.

  3. Hello,

I have two questions about v2.06.567

First, if I select "Cleaner" and then "Applications" tab - why do some of the applications have asterisks next to the name?

Second, where can I find a list of exactly what is cleaned for each application. For example, CCleaner apparently removes the autocomplete names list from Outlook. What else does CCleaner clean from Outlook - where can I find the list for each app?

    Thanks

    NM

Thanks for your quick reply -- seems like it's an undocumented feature rather than a bug.

  5. I would steer anyone away from Glary after trying out a free version a few months back and finding it to be unreliable, untrustworthy and capable of being a real system killer. So I certainly wouldn't trust it to erase a disk.

    Ignore away <_<

Agree totally - Glary trashed my operating system so badly I had todo a complete re-install
