  1. Running CCleaner's Registry "Scan for Issues" identifies the .MSC extension as unused and marks it for removal. This is incorrect - removing the .MSC extension prevents the user from running things like services.msc or the Manage function from My Computer.

     

    Bingo! Thought it was this causing me no end of problems... :rolleyes:

    I agree that it is a great product and I too am encountering the same problem.

     

    Always happens after using "Registry, Scan for Issues" - which nearly always brings up 107 problems to fix. :huh:

     

     

    Any ideas how this can be resolved cos it's a right pain in the butt waiting for Office to reinstall? :angry:

    P.S. Obviously un-ticking the Unused File Extensions is a workaround, but not ideal. (this also resolves my issue of deleting the MSC association).
